Eight Things I Know

I've been tagged by Shelly at This Eclectic Life to do a Meme created by Damien at Riley Central who just turned 38 and wrote about 8 things that he knows. Think about it, what is it in your life that you find to be true, rather than just the trite sayings that we all hear? Can you really believe everything your parents tell you?

As Riley puts it so well on his blog:
"It’s been said that in life, “the more you learn, the less you ‘know’.” I’d agree with that, but that doesn’t mean you can’t know something! I’m tagging fellow bloggers to blog their 8 just for fun. I won’t be hurt if you don’t accept the tag, but I would like to see your 8!
Anybody else out there that wants to do it: TAG YOU’RE IT!!!"

My 8 things I know:

1. Yes, your parents can be right. My mother has always told me that things happen for a reason and that the reason isn't always clear at the moment.

2. People always get what they deserve, it may not be when you want it, but there is a reward/consequence for all our actions.

3. Reading is the one subject that no child should be allowed to fail. Words are the essence of our lives, the stories we hear and read which gives us a vocabulary to understand the world. The information available will all equal nothing, if we don't have a vocabulary.

4. You can't please all your children all the time.

5. Fair is just a line on a baseball field.

6. Move beyond mistakes, don't dwell, but learn from them.

7. Life is way to short to spend in a job you hate.

8. A smile on your face and a positive attitude helps make the day go quicker. And even if you feel like screaming, make it a game to keep that smile on and your voice calm.

“You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

This Meme is flying through the blogosphere with many being tagged, so if you have not been tagged yet. Go for it! What I did was to write mine and only read two others. So far, I think many of the eight are the same, just said differently. These are the blogs that Shelly and Riley havetagged already if you are looking to compare.

You are wise beyond your years, sweetie! I like them all but especially: "Fair is just a line on a baseball field." Excellent! Thanks for doing this one. I knew you'd have a good list.
(oh, and sometimes you can't please a teenager anyof the time!)

    5. What a great list!!! I really love the "fair" comparison!!

This has been fun reading other people's posts to this tag. I've been wondering if there are some interesting stories behind some of the answers I've seen.

      Have a great day smiling!!

    6. Such good wisdom! I really liked #8, I probably need to work at that more. I have such a problem dealing with life when it's not peachy. And at home with two growing teens, it's not too peachy....lol!
