How to Know When You are One of the Old at Work

Even though I think I am still one of the "young ones", these examples clearly put me on the old side.
  • I could be the mother to some of my co-workers.
  • I had to explain what a soft boiled egg was and how you eat it.
  • I have to tell a co-worker to put their kindle away.

When did it dawn on you that you were on the old end of the worker profile. Or if you are young, what do you consider to be old?

  1. When I was young, I thought 28 was OLD so I wanted to die by then. The year I turned 28, I had changed my mind and hoped God hadn't taken me seriously.

    Somedays I feel like I am 20 and others . . . like 120!

  2. It's always the first step in the morning that makes me feel old!

  3. Yes, these are each an OUCH!

I remember when I heard that Elvis had died, I thought, "What's the big deal? After all, he was 42. He'd had a life." What a punk I was.

I recently had a coworker ask me if Caroline Kennedy was Ted Kennedy's sister. At first that made me feel old, then I remembered he just turned 50. So I'm not old, he's dumb. That's comforting, huh?

  4. Not anything at WORK yet :-) College---I'm going back for another Bachelor's degree. This first semester brought very interesting occurrence---for the first time, I'm older than one of my professors! I was used to the fact that I was older than pretty much all of my fellow students (there's a guy who graduated from high school ahead of me, but he's in another major), as even last time I was older than the majority of students---then I had a professor who was about 2 years older than me. But this time, there's a professor in the department I'm not in who is about 4 years YOUNGER than me!!! I get a kick out of the idea :-D

  5. I felt old when the manager of a local grocery chain looked down at me and said, "You told stories at my school when I was a kid!"

Like I needed to hear that from a grown man!
