Given that I read three books this weekend, I like to think that I am even more dedicated. I guess there are two levels of obsession when it comes to reading, one is always reading and having a book handy and two is reading a book till it's finished and ignoring the world around you (aka, staying in bed till late morning to finish a book).
The books I read this weekend are listed in the Ravelry list on in my right column with links to Amazon if you want to read more about the books, but here is my quick and dirty reviews:
  1. The Sinner by Tess Gerritsen- Nice quick who done, kind of a minor league Scarpetta book, and I loved the medical part of the book.
  2. Marley and Me- It's a five hanky book, if you love dogs than you will enjoy it till the last two chapters. It's a dog, they don't live as long as us.....but while this dog was alive, he was pretty bad.
  3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower- a book for teenagers, written through letters written by a sensitive, geek freshman boy finding a niche among seniors who accept him and include him. Think Catcher in the Rye, but a much nicer character, who people like and of course there is a hidden secret in his life which has deeply affected him. My middle guy is going to read it and I hope we can talk about it. His viewpoint will be interesting.
I think I am well on my way to 52 books for the year. Can I just say that I love my library???? We may not have a downtown, supermarket or even a post office, but damn, we have a great library!

  1. I really want to read Marley and Me.

I do need to read more, I find I'm not reading as much and I need to make time for it, I enjoy it so much. I'm currently reading Jane Austen's, Emma which I adore.

  2. I loved the Marley and Me book (haven't seen the movie yet). While I was reading it, I was making peace with the fact that my new kitten was going to grow up to be The Worst Cat in the World (and he has).

  3. I think I heard about Marley and me as a movie. . . I haven't seen it. I did go see the BUTTONS one and it was better than the story it is based on. I hope to buy the dvd when it comes out.

I don't need to read Marley & Me. I cry just reading the title. I keep picking up books with short stories...that's about my attention span anymore.
