Today I went up to Gunstock for the first Nordic Race. We had about 6 inches of snowfall yesterday which I thought would be good for a race today, but my son told me that it was to sticky. I helped out with the beginning of the race handing race bibs out and collecting the outerwear.
Next week's race is quite a bit further away, I am going to try to get another parent to ride up. But given the time of year, my going up is all based on the weather. Me, the biggest wuss going when it comes to driving in snow. Beautiful to look at, terrible to drive in.
I am soooooooo jealous of your snow. It has snowed here twice but just flurries that melted on hitting the ground. More rain in sight for us. sigh
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of the snowman - very picturesque!

ReplyDeleteI always love going to our local x-country ski races. I never finish near the winners, but the atmosphere is great fun.
beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never skied, downhill or x-country. Yes, I see the irony of being a Colorado resident. ; ) I think I'd do better at snowshoeing. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love winter, but hate ice. I've been suffering from cabin fever and your photo reminds me of the beautiful part of the season.
ReplyDeleteim hoping you werent the one racin
ReplyDeleteSnow is great if you're looking at in from inside a warm house through a window LOL I can't stand it otherwise....all the slipping and sliding and cold...ACK!
ReplyDeleteGood luck driving in that stuff. I remember its not fun.
ReplyDeleteThat snowman picture is awesome.
Altho I live in the midwest, I'm not a big fan of snow only because I have to drive in it! Trying to get around now especially during the holidays is a trial -- but I love your snowman!!!
ReplyDeleteNordic racing must be so peaceful as well as tiring. I love both your pictures, the racer and the lit-up snowman!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures. Merry Christmas, everyone! (or Marry Chirstmas, as I first typed that.)
ReplyDeleteWrote a big long post but it didn't go through. . . missing you!
ReplyDeleteHope you are ok. . . maybe just snowed in with no electricity? I mean, I don't wish that for you but better than being out on the road in snow and something happening going to that Nordic race.
ReplyDeleteBlessings in the New year!
