Best Mom in the World

At least my 14 year old thinks I am the greatest. I did something today that I have never done, I took my son out of school early to go to a movie. It was his birthday, his friends are either not home this weekend or have baseball practices/games and we knew that the movie would be crowded for the evening shows. So my son and I had a date to see Spiderman 3. It was a fun movie, just enough action and campiness to keep my attention. Okay, I cried a few tears, but not giving anything away. It was worth "breaking the rules" and my son couldn't thank me enough.
My golf game was so-so for the first time out for the year. It was breezier at the course than here at home, so that added some challenge to the game. Only one lost ball which made a spectacular splash in a pond. I loved being out with my friends, but glad we only played 9 holes, since I had to make a birthday cake.

  1. You are definitely going to get a cool Mother's Day Card.

My daughters 14th Birthday is this Sunday. I'm making a cake her cake and I so wanted to have the cool whipped cream icing and custard filling that our local bakery makes - it's to die for! I found a recipe for making whipped cream icing just like the bakeries do. I'll post pics of it on my blog after her bday!

I think we're taking the kids to see Spiderman 3 next weekend - I'm glad it'll keep my interest too.

You are an alright Mom! Sorry your golf game was only so-so. I never have tried golf (except miniature, of course). I probably should try it once, but it sounds like another expensive hobby. I've already got a couple of those. Spiderman. It wasn't on my list to see, but if you think it's good I'll put it there. Hope you have a good weekend! Mine involves getting ready to travel and finishing out the post for that contest.

  6. Way to go, mom! "Some rules are made to be broken", and all that.

A great memory for both of you.
