Please, let me be a College Student!!

Jealous, that's what I am, pure jealousy is oozing out of my 40 something pores, not a pretty sight. It's just not fair. I want to be a college student with an air conditioned dorm, computers, cell phones and a dining hall that is open
Mon-Fri 7:15am-9:00pm
Sat & Sun 8:00am-9:00pm
Back in my day, the dining hall closed 7 pm and it was not open in the afternoon on the weekends. Now UNH also has a bakery style sandwich shop that even has better hours: open until 1:30 am. That's some serious dining options for the student who procrastinates or has the munchies. Last summer I was at UNH to pick up a computer for my son and as I was leaving the Student Union (MUB) which is next to their new dining hall, Holloway Commons, a father with a bored, looking teenager asked me what that new building was and if it was worth looking at. HELLOOOO, that would be the best dining hall I have ever set foot in, yes, you do want to check it out.
But then I just like it when anyone cooks for me!

To show you what my poor son had to endure, just look at this menu which is for one dinner. What the heck????? Where can I sign up?
(But seriously, my roommate and I would have been the 2 ton mamas with food like this.)

Thanks for sharing at my place!

  2. I wouldn't get any studying done with a menu like that . . . I would be doing a lot of reading (menu) and making decisions (choosing which to buy/eat) though. Ü

  4. In addition to the cell phones, central air and Microsoft Word and Internet access, I'm jealous of his metabolism. As a middle-aged, perimenopausal gal, I gained 5 lbs. just reading the pizza selections … and I will never be able to lose it.

  5. we had some brand spanking new dining halls at UD when i was there and at first it was great. Then the food started tasting all the same. It was still great for breakfast, but by sophomore year, dinner became burgers and strombolis

  6. Is it just me, or is there something odd about Vegan Cheesy Beef & Pasta or Vegan Chicken Chesterfield? Doesn't vegan mean no animal products within a 20-mile radius?
Meanwhile, whatever those dishes are, they're making me hungry...
I agree, the freshman 15 would turn into the freshman 30 if I was eating in this dining hall!
