#13 Thursday Thirteen, Mothers, What are They Good For?

So what are mothers good for?

1. Provide comic relief: Serve a new vegetable.
2. Driving: Pick up and Drop offs, please no talking unless spoken to.
3. Banking: Do the puppy dog eyes, quivering lip and 90% of the time you'll see some green.
4. Cleaning: Who else is going to clean up when you are sick?
5. Personal Dressing: "You're going out looking like that?"
6. Cheerleading: That's your mom calling you "Danny" and "To be the ball", when your name isn't Danny (Quick, name the movie reference)
7. Psychic Abilities: Able to predict the weather and bring a second set of dry clothes when a monsoon hits during a game.
8. Listening: Always there to hear your side even when she doesn't agree
9. Teaching: From standing up, potty training, tying shoes, riding a bike to driving a car......
10. Laughing: At silly faces, dumb jokes and dead on impressions.
11. Healing: Kissing a boo boo, deciding that the 1 inch gap needs stitches and changing surgical dressings with that special touch.
12. Editing: If you need help editing, it will be done, and if you are independent and want to do it on your own, so be it.
13. Loving: No matter what stupid thing you do, you know that Mom will still love you.
(Speaking of Mothers, my parents are coming up on Friday and I have 101 things to do before then, my visiting other TT's will be limited, I will try though!)

Great list! You made me smile with those. I definitely can relate to #4. No matter that I've taught them, they still can't remember where the laundry hamper is!

  4. Caddyshack! Is there a prize involved? Your #13 is the universal one, isn't it? Happy Mother's Day! (And I'll be well enough to go to work tomorrow. Thanks for asking.)

Wonderful list. All these things (minus the driving and banking - those were dad's domains) definitely bring mom closer to mind.

Hee hee! What a fabulous list. :) And you know what, when I was a kiddo, I used to think my mom had eyes in the back of her head.

Have a great visit with your parents, and Happy TT! Thanks for visiting my blog.

  15. Happy Mothers Day a few days early from one Mom to the other. You are blessed to have your Mom still with you. Mine died 20 years ago. She was elderly tho and lived lots longer than my
    dad. . .

I finally went to that second link you gave me and spent most of yesterday trying to get something to work on my site. I finally gave up and took the html off my site. It not only didn't work but it messed up the whole page. Went back to the site and tried again. No luck. It wasn't meant to be.

That's ok. My site is pretty full now anyway.

  16. I love that list, especially the one for comic relief....that is so true in our house!

Actually, my kids ate their veggies better when they were toddlers. Now it's like pulling teeth to get them to eat them.

Terrific list, and every one of them are spot on! My mom's coming to visit next weekend and I'll have just come home from vacation, so I'm really going to be in a panic getting the house ready!

    Happy TT!
