2/16 Flowing

Love this photo of Cocoa Beach
Cold, so very cold to go out to a frozen stream/river to get a picture for today's prompt. And even though I was cleaning the shower, a photo of the shower water just wasn't going to cut it for me. The directions for the prompt was for a phone picture and this was taken yesterday while we were snow shoeing. Since I took it with an app, Camera+ that I don't use very much, I thought it would be a good picture for today's flowing. I also went into the stackablesapp to add texture and more color.  Even though I have all these water shots from last month, I have this goal of not using pictures from the same month for a daily prompt, even if some of them are "wow" pictures.

The flickr challenge for this week's 365 project is reflection and while I was cleaning the kitchen cabinets, I noticed the shadow of the flower vase on the kitchen island. Yep, cold days means I stay in and clean.

Busy as a Bee Crafting

First set of Afghan SquaresWhere have I been? Let's put it this way, Shelly has a box of squares heading her way tomorrow.I have been crocheting up a storm and then beading today. Yesterday, my friend Rose called to learn how to make the Squares since she already knew how to crochet. An hour visit turned into three hours of sitting on my back porch crocheting. She brought over a box of yarn that someone had left at work and we went through it splitting up the yarn. After watching her crochet, I realized that by crocheting with my right hand which is definitely not my dominant side that Afghan Tags.JPGthe whole gauge thing Fuzzy Afghan squares.JPGis going to remain to be difficult for me.

Nursery variegated colors .JPGI played around with the different yarns and even though the "fuzzy" yarn is tough to work with, it does make a cozy square. The thicker yarns require only four rows of shells, and I have had to go down to a G hook. It's been a fun activity to do while watching the Red Sox play and of course I crochet at my own son's games. I posted all my week's crafts on the flickr badge which I wasn't able to put in the post.

Alas, no beach for me yet this summer. The past three days have felt like September here in NH. Between the windy, stormy weather of Friday to the cool, crisp day yesterday, it has not been the best beach weather. I am back to two days off a week, so I have a better chance of hitting a beach day. Now that my kids are teenagers/young adult, I can now relax on the beach. Any other beach lovers out there?

(Okay, so posting images should be a lot easier than it is for blogger, especially when the image uploader is not working)

Just saw this over at Special K and had to try it! Does this mean I am boring?Online Dating

Wednesday Wahoo

Today was "Day In the Life- March 2007, check out some cool pictures from around the world over at Flickr. Mine show the snow that we still have and of course I have the obligatory picture of a cat in my set.

Not the most productive day at work with our email server bogged down and still being a little bit tired. I started a book last night at 10:30 pm, silly me, the lights went out at 1 am. This is what I am reading and will finish this evening! Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner, it's enjoyable and includes a mother in law character who would send me packing. It's a story about 4 very different young womens' experiences with their first childbirth.

Today I had a very non-WW lunch, I just couldn't find a whoopie pie on the core food list. It was a small one and thought that my cabbage soup would not be a good thing to have during a lunch time presentation on Crystals in Joint fluid. I got to learn a lot about Gout and Psuedogout today. The one very interesting fact was that only humans get Gout. But back to the food, although food and gout do go together in a way and wine drinkers are less likely to get gout versus beer drinkers, but I am really get off track here...Food, now I know why you eat good lunches, so you don't come home after eating only carrots sticks and a whoopie pie to eating Sea salt and cracked pepper potato chips. I have never craved salt as I do now while doing weight watchers, but you have got to check out these potato chips, I love them- Cape Cod chips and will even eat the Target Store Brand same flavor.
My wahoo part of the day would be my son's grade on his last Spanish paper, an 88 and knowing that I only have one more day of work!

Tuesday Trance

All this time spent playing with my blog led to dry, red eyes and a feeling of lost time. It was really hard to wake up this morning. I was at an intersection heading to work after bringing Bub back to school after his dental appointment when I was struck by the feeling that I really wanted to take a left, drive the two miles up the road and go back to bed, rather than drive across and go to work. Reality woke me up quick and off I went to work. Last week was a "hurry up" week and this week is a wait week. I spent about an hour looking up other lab's acceptance and rejection policies for specimen labeling, any nurses out there reading this, please let me know about your lab! Then I spent time deciphering a lab order missed and realized that communication can never be assumed!

I have to retake a picture for the brochure at work and I just realized that bringing my camera with me to work will fit in great with Flickr: a day in the life of..., it is a fun thing to participate in and the pictures from around the world are so neat to see. Just think about what you do each day and what you see, versus someone in another country. The images are fun to go through and check out, so if you are looking for someplace to click to tomorrow, go to the A Day in the Life over at Flikr. If you are reading this on Tuesday, then you can still join and participate.

WW Notes: Thawed some of the yummy vegie soup for lunch today and after lunch sat at my desk and talked myself out of a fiber one bar just b/c I thought I needed something sweet after lunch. I wasn't hungry, but have gotten in the habit of the something sweet after a meal. To make better use of the 2 points, I waited till 4 to have it and you know what? I didn't pass out due to hunger.....mmmm, might be something to keep in mind for the future.
